Jack Croghan is the Sports and Entertainment Program Director for Walker School of Business and Technology at Webster University. He brought a dynamic conversation to CEO on Monday regarding the changes to NCAA sports and the impact of sports marketing. During Jack’s career, he spent 13 years as Director of Marketing with the Cardinals organization, and 12 years as the VP of Business Development and Sports/Ent Sales with Edward Jones for 12 years. He is also owner of Croghan Sports LLC. With recent changes to NCAA rules, players can now profit from their Name, Image and Likeness (NIL). As Jack shared, whether you like sports or not, this is an incredible opportunity and every marketing professional should consider that types of promotions and partnerships this can bring. Jack introduced CEO to several foundational marketing principles
- The 4 PS of marketing - Price, Promotion, Product, Place
- Difference between Endorsements and Promotions
- The power of a Testimonial/Customer Feedback
- Be creative with your marketing Bijon Robinson’s Bijon Mustardson – and his partnership with gourmet dijon mustard. Or Decoldest Crawford that did an NIL deal with a Heating and Cooling Company in Nebraska

Jack was engaging and really allowed students to see into the world of Sports and Marketing and the true business that exists around us everyday. Thank you Jack for spending time with CEO!
