We had a site visit with Dr. Arthur Langston at Integrity Spine and Joint Center on Wednesday. Dr. Langston shared his journey from starting with no real sense to go into business, but considering possibly dentistry, physical therapy, maybe a physician’s assistant and ultimately landing on Chiropractic Care. He runs his practice with emphasis knowing that he is able to help everyday people do everyday things with their families and friends. Sometimes the end goal for his patients is simply being able to hold their grandchild without pain. Even with this as a focus, he started out his care leaning into many athletes and different emphasis in the early years. From helping those working through heal pain, to supporting patients in their pain management to ultimately building his business through a niche of serving runners at local races. Dr. Langston had some key takeaways for our students:
- If you are not sure what you want to do, get comfortable with going into Business. Even if you lean into a primary area in the future, often times business background will help in whatever field you land in.
- You have to know when to take the leap. After working along side several practitioners, when the opportunity came for opening his own chiropractic offices, he had limited funds, but he still said YES.
- Staying in business requires having faith and the ability to adapt no matter what comes your way. COVID had a huge impact on his business. This also pushed Dr. Langston to pivot when events became very limited, but the opportunity to grow an audience and presence was available on social media.

Dr. Langston wrapped up with advice for the students.
1. Find a passion for something in life. Whether that is work life or interests outside of work - find a place to do what you love and do it well.
2.Be sure to have a good team of people around you. The support network helps you and allows you to help others.
3. FInally – he encouraged students no matter what - to have FUN. Life is way too short. Find the humor in life!

Thank you so much Dr. Langston for sharing so much valuable wisdom from the experiences of jumping into business and not looking back!
