About Me

My name is Samantha Niemeyer. I was born at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois. Troy is my hometown and I’ve lived there my whole life. I was born into a big family of one brother and two sisters. Most of my life, I lived with my parents, because my siblings graduated and moved out when I was a child. We had many small pets growing up, like fish and hamsters, but we only had two dogs through my life. My dog, Prince, was an active puppy and lived a long happy life. I have three nieces and one nephew. I did many fun things as a young child and my family loved doing a lot of activities together. One of the main things I did my whole life is art. Anything involving art is a massive part of my life because I can express myself in so many ways and inspire others through my pieces. Another thing I enjoyed doing, is hanging out with family. My mom, dad, brother, and sisters have been a huge part of my life, as I am the youngest; I loved being with them and doing activities or playing games. We would go to Bass River Resort and have week long float trips during summer. Now that all my siblings live in different states, every summer I enjoy flying out to visit them in Boston, Massachusetts, and Melbourne, Florida. I am happiest when I am with my family and friends. My favorite thing to do with my friends is going out to eat with them, or having a late summer night bonfire. While I was younger, I wanted to be so many things when I grew up and I did not know what my career was going to be. I went through stages of wanting to be a teacher, but of course that idea went away once I realized what that entailed. Right after that, I wanted to be a vet for a long time, then I found out all the hard experiences that each and every one of them go through, and I do not think I could deal with that heartbreak on the daily. Once I got a little bit older, maybe around the start of middle school, I decided I wanted to go to cosmetology school and become a beautician. I love playing around with makeup and hair, and it is a huge passion of mine, but I do not believe that is not what I am supposed to do with my life. When I found out that a career like Forensic Psychology exists, I was immediately drawn into it. I want to go to the University of Missouri Columbia and major in Psychology. As I watch people who work in Psychology and witness them helping others, it makes me believe that I was meant to do it and make a change of my own. It would be amazing to have my own practice in the future, and I know it takes many years in school, but I am ready to commit and do it. Who knows, I might go to cosmetology school in the future and have my own salon, but I feel as if I am meant to be in Forensics at the moment. Throughout my whole life, I knew that I was going to do something involving business, like having my own practice in Psychology or a salon. I am excited for this class because I will learn the ends and out of running my own business, and experience things that will help me in the future. CEO will help me get ready for when I am out of college and moving on to the next chapter in my life.
